it’s raining again. so i decided J and i could make some gingerbread men! The cookie cutter shape for a person is a bit dodgy and he likes stars better anyway so we mostly made gingerbread stars.
J sat at the bench with his own bowl and pan playset and stirred and banged while i mixed the dough. Then he helped use the shapes to make the cookies. He kept poking his finger into the finished shapes and killing them so i would have to start again. And he discovered half-way through that this dough tastes GOOD (not like the play-doh we made which tastes horrible!) I think it was my fault as i may have eaten a bit and he saw me! oops! So then it became a battle to see see if i could scoop the cookie onto the tray before he poked at it and ate it.

Convincing him to wait while they cooked in the oven took a bit of explaining. But i opened the oven and showed him that his stars were getting hot.
Here he is eating the first biscuit that he has helped to make.

I tried to get him to hold the tray so i could get a photo of him holding all the cookies he made. But holding it required two hands and one hand was busy trying to steal a biscuit so i gave up! He did a bit of a dance when i first gave it to him and kept signing ‘biscuit’.
